In a nutshell
Are you interested in refining your knowledge of statistical analysis and spatial modelling within the context of a dissertation and a project with a close connection to practice? Then this project could be a good fit for you. The 3.75-year PhD position in the 'BoBiColAS' (Boosting Biodiversity through Collaborative Agri-Environmental Schemes) Project is part of the Swiss National Research Programme 82, 'Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services'. Using a transdisciplinary approach the project is carried out at Agroscope in Switzerland, in collaboration with the Agricultural Office of the Cabton of Aargau as the societal partner, the University of Aberdeen (Scotland), and a wide range of national partners from both practice and research. Agroscope is the Swiss centre of excellence for agricultural research. The project brings together ecologists, economists and social scientists working agricultural and environmental issues. The project is based in Agroscope's 'Agricultural Landscapes and Biodiversity' Research Group, and the PhD is being completed at the Institute for Evolutionary Biology and Environmental Sciences at the University of Zurich (Supervisor: PD Dr Eva Knop).
